Lash Extensions in Porirua

Good lash work should look like you woke up that way. Our extensions are currently offered at junior artist pricing while Monique completes her qualification — the work is careful and the results are real, and the pricing reflects where she is in her training rather than any shortcut in the treatment itself.

YOUR VISIT

Your visit, step by step.

  1. Before your appointment

Arrive with no eye makeup and no oil-based products around the eyes — extensions will not bond to a residue. Take contact lenses out. A full set takes up to two hours, so use the bathroom first and expect to lie still.

  2. During the treatment

You lie down with your eyes closed while lower lashes are protected with a gel pad. Extensions are applied one at a time to individual natural lashes. Most people find it relaxing enough that they fall asleep.

  3. Afterwards

Extensions need 24 hours to cure fully, so keep them dry. After that, brush them daily and cleanse them with a lash bath — which we do free of charge whenever you come in. Infills every two to three weeks keep a set looking full.

AFTERCARE

A little care, afterwards.

  • Keep extensions completely dry for the first 24 hours — no shower steam, no swimming, no crying at anything.
  • Avoid oil-based cleansers, makeup removers and eye creams. Oil dissolves the adhesive.
  • Brush lashes daily with the spoolie we give you.
  • Do not pick, pull or cut extensions. If one is bothering you, come in and we will remove it properly.
  • Sleep on your back or side rather than face down if you can.
  • Book infills at two to three weeks rather than waiting until the set looks sparse.

BEFORE YOU BOOK

Who this isn’t suitable for

Tell us about any of the following when you book and we will adjust the treatment or recommend something better suited. If you are unsure, ask — that is what the complimentary consultation is for.

  • Eye infections including conjunctivitis, styes or blepharitis — wait until fully cleared.
  • Known allergy to cyanoacrylate adhesive. We patch test if you are unsure.
  • Recent eye surgery, including laser correction, without your surgeon's clearance.
  • Alopecia or trichotillomania affecting the lashes, where extensions may worsen the loss.
  • Active chemotherapy — please talk to your oncology team first.

QUESTIONS

A few things you might ask.

Something else on your mind? Contact the team.

Will extensions damage my natural lashes?

Not when they are applied correctly. Damage comes from extensions that are too heavy for the natural lash, from lashes being glued together, or from people pulling them out themselves. We weight each extension to the lash it sits on, and removal is always free rather than something you should attempt at home.

What does 'junior lash artist pricing' mean?

Monique is an experienced and confident lash artist who is finishing her formal qualification. The work is done to full standard and supervised, and the pricing is lower to reflect where she is in her training. It is a limited-time rate that will rise once she qualifies.

How long do lash extensions last?

Your natural lashes shed on their own cycle, so extensions come away with them. Most people book infills every two to three weeks. A full set left for six weeks or more usually needs replacing rather than infilling.

Do I need a patch test?

For extensions we recommend one, at least 24 hours beforehand, if you have sensitive eyes or any history of reaction to adhesives.
